This port, which is shared with La Baule, was once very prosperous with the salt trade.
The promenade of the port is the essential walk to take advantage of the shops, the terraces and the restaurants. It leads to the very beautiful bay which delimits one of the ends of the Bay of La Baule.
The wild coast is bordered by seaside constructions which are completely different from the style of the country.
The village of Penchâteau is worth a visit with its stone houses and its Ste-Anne - St-Julien chapel.
